Category: Earbits Company Updates

Earbits just got a huge facelift, giving you a lot more options directly on the homepage. More importantly, we’ve made sharing your favorite songs with friends even easier. Previously, if you shared songs from web or mobile, your friends could click those links and listen to those tracks from our website, but not from a mobile device. The new iPhone and Android apps will now auto-play any tracks you share with friends or across Facebook.

Check it out! Here is a classic track from Grammy winning artist, Alabama Shakes. Give it a click! See what we mean, and if you like it, be sure to share it or anything else you discover.

The wait is over! The Earbits iPhone app is available now!

If you haven’t heard the news, the Earbits iPhone app is awesome. It will analyze the music from your phone and recommend channels you’ll like from over 400 genre-based selections. Then, we intelligently blend your own music into those channels. The result is awesome music discovery with your favorite tracks mixed in.

Of course, just like the Earbits you are used to, we have no commercials, no subscription fees, and no strings attached. We help you discover new music that you may not find on other platforms, and make it easy to connect with the artist – just touch the G button, and you can instantly join a mailing list, follow on Twitter, and more.

Earbits for Android is here and it’s awesomer than you could have imagined.

Earbits for Android

Not only does it play all of the Earbits music you love, it also recommends channels based on the music on your phone, and then it blends your music into our channels!

Do you have the Black Keys on your phone? You’ll find them in the Earbits Blues Rock channel. Do you have Miles Davis? Then he’ll be in your Earbits Jazz channel. You now get the power of Earbits music discovery, blended with your favorite tracks.

Did you ever wonder how a small team of people built Earbits, and why? Would you like to know how artists like Amanda Palmer raised over $1 million on Kickstarter to produce her album on her own without a major label?

Ondi Timoner has won the Sundance Grand Jury prize twice, and now she’s documenting the tech revolution, and feeding the innovator in us all by sharing the stories of the greatest innovators of our time through her online portal, A TOTAL DISRUPTION.

We are excited to announce a big improvement to the Earbits service.

Last year, we generated over 70,000 fans for our artists through Earbits Radio. Today we’re launching something that we think is going to dramatically increase the results we’ll be able to provide to our artists and labels. We think this news is exciting and that you’re going to want the full scoop, but if you want the short version, just read the bold parts.

All artist profiles will now have mailing signup capabilities so that our users can give you their email address.

Are you sitting down? We have some news that might make your knees weak.

Earbits is excited to announce Groovies, a new Earbits currency that you earn whenever you take actions that support our bands.

Share a track with friends, earn 100 Groovies. Join a fan page or mailing list, earn 50 Groovies.

Okay, but what do I do with Groovies? We’re glad you asked.

Along with Groovies, we’re launching a ton of improvements to the site and a bunch of new on-demand listening features.

We are pleased to announce that we’ve made life easier for artists one more time by teaming up with the good folks at BandPage.  BandPage, the hub where over 600,000 musicians manage and control their online presence, just expanded their reach with BandPage Connect, allowing artists to instantly integrate their BandPage profile onto the most powerful social and music platforms across the web.

That means that BandPage artists can now submit music for consideration to Earbits in about 15 seconds using the BandPage Connect button.  They’ve also launched the BandPage Connect Center, a gallery where musicians can find out about opportunities like crowdfunding powerhouse PledgeMusic,  or PR marketing service and Earbits partner StoryAmp.

Earbits is proud to bring you the first in a series of incredible compilations in a variety of genres and styles. This first bundle is a collection of exceptional Indie Rock tracks from some of our favorite Earbits artists. If you like what you hear, be sure to support these outstanding musicians by joining their mailing list, Facebook page, or picking up their full length album.
