Just so that it is known; with regards to the extra musician having tracks running – Civil Twilight do not run any tracks or play to any click track, everything heard live is played live by the members on their various instruments.

Excellent review, Scott!
Everything was very well said, and nice choice of adjectives all-around.
I was also at the Bootleg show (you may have heard me screaming “I love you Steven!”) and they certainly did kill it!
The new songs are incredible, and I cannot wait to hear them again live.

Hey Eric – I mostly agree…99% of pay to play opportunities are a joke. But if someone offered your rock band a chance to open for Guns N Roses at the Greek Theater and wanted you to pay $1000 for the opportunity, you’d be silly not to do it. Think of it as the cost to advertise yourself. Somewhere between there and the Whisky is a line where there starts to be no value, or not enough value anyway, to justify it. And, in most cases where that’s happening, the sad part is that the people know they’re really just taking advantage of people.

Pay to play is an insult to all musicians. I would never support or watch any band that plays those shows. If you have to play those shows, then your band needs to work on the creativity in the music and create something original (hard to find these days). Boycott the Whiskey tell all your friends.
