With Earbits releasing their new and improved Playlists on Android, I decided it was time to put together a list of my favorite tracks on the platform. After all, I’ve got 100+ Favorites, and having them organized into a Playlist would really make it easy to rock on-demand. I figured I’d spend ten minutes slapping together the songs I have marked over the years, and voila! 240 minutes of perfectly-curated music that will be my go-to soundtrack for months to come. Right?

The 55th Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place on February 10th on CBS.  This year, as in years past, artists on the Earbits roster are strongly represented as nominees for awards in various categories.  The Earbits artists nominated by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences come from diverse backgrounds and genres— from pop superstar Paul McCartney to jazz percussion mastermind Bobby Sanabria.  We even have an artist nominated for “Record Of The Year,” the award ceremony’s highest honors.  Check out the entire list of Grammy-nominated Earbits artists from this year below, and click to listen to each one.

I love my job. Not many people can say that. Why do I love it, you ask? I do nothing but listen to Earbits all day, which provides me some serious time to peruse the up and coming music that we are constantly adding. From Metal to Jazz, and everything in between, I am ever-impressed by the catalog that our music department is building. Frankly, it’s getting ridiculous.

What does this mean to you?

The lineup for Lollapalooza 2012 was released on Wednesday, and it features a variety of different acts.  It’s not quite up to par with last year’s 20th anniversary lineup, but that would’ve been a tough task for Perry and co.  Here are some thoughts on this year’s lineup:

Red Hot Chili Peppers seem like an obvious, fitting choice for headliners due to the festival’s roots in 90s alternative rock culture.  But without guitar virtuoso John Frusciante, the group’s similar headlining performance from just a few years ago is going to be tough to top.
