HARD Day Of The Dead took place last weekend with a strong lineup of house and dance producers from around the world.  That festival (which used to be a 2-day indoor Halloween weekend festival named Hard Haunted Mansion) and the HARD production company in general have helped secure L.A.’s spot amongst the top U.S. cities for electronic music.  The company was founded by Gary Richards, a longstanding L.A. DJ that performs under the name Destructo.

In honor of his city and the success he’s achieved for himself within it (and the success he’s helped achieve for L.A.’s EDM scene in general), Destructo released a track entitled “LA Funky.”  The song features L.A. duo OLIVER, which consists of DJs Vaughn Oliver and Oliver Goldstein.

For lawyers and doctors and those that have to deal with the potential repercussions brought forth by fans of the hard-partying, drug-using genre, Holy Ship! is probably not a good idea.  But for electronic music fans, this might be the coolest idea ever.

The lineup and info for the inaugural voyage of Holy Ship! were announced last week, and the festival is shaping up to be one of the most unique concepts in the live music and entertainment world.  Organized by Hard, Cloud 9 Adventures and The Bowery, Holy Ship! is an electronic music festival that will be held on a cruise ship during January of 2012.  From the 6th through the 9th of that month, the ship will voyage from Ft. Lauderdale, FL to Port Lucaya, Bahamas before its final stop at a Private Island.
